Heidi Purcell, Owner

After a decade of employment at a local bank, Heidi Purcell decided to merge her business acumen and creative passion for knitting into the dream of owning her own yarn shop. Heidi's Yarn Haven has been open and steadily growing for over 20 years in downtown Ukiah.

Heidi began knitting as a seventh grader. She began her career as a knitter teaching at Ukiah's Adult School for 13 years. She simultaneously worked at the Yarn Shop in Ukiah, and when that owner retired Heidi recognized there was still a need for access to quality yarns and knitting instruction in the community. Her dream of owning her own yarn shop has been a fantastically rewarding experience, both in her abillity to select and carry a beautiful array of fine yarns and knitting products from around the world as well as her interactions with her avid customers and helping with their diverse, inspired projects.

Our fun little shop is located near some great businesses in downtown Ukiah, California.

Within short walking distance, you can also enjoy attractions like the Mendocino Book Company, Schat's Bakery & Deli, and the Alex Thomas Plaza. Popular city events often take place in front of our store.
